Been an amazing couple of days here in Port-au-Prince. We’ve made a lot of progress on the wall we’re rebuilding.
The church & school where we are working is located on a hill and all of the materials are delivered via the front gate which is at the lowest corner of the property. We then have to move the supplies, in this case the cinder block for the wall from courtyard area, thru a winding walkway and upstairs to a back courtyard area. Since the concrete for columns & footers and the mortar for block is mixed @ front gate area it gets moved via bucketload the same way. This is giving us the opportunity practice serious team work. It took all of us, plus the pastor & some of the staff who pitched in, to accomplish the move of the block.
None of this would’ve been possible without God and our decision as a team to work together to glorify him in our work here. Without that and our reliance our Him I don’t we would be as far along as we are. We’ve been blessed so far as all we have had to deal with is heat & sore muscles.
If I had one request for us it would be for continued prayer for team unity and job site safety.

Well, after a 3 hour drive, 2 hour flight, hotel stay & one more 2 hour flight me, Donald & Jim made it safely to Port-au-Prince Haiti.
Picked up at the airport by Stanley & Jeff, our coordinators on the ground here in Haiti. Two great guys on whom I plan to write more later.
We then dropped our stuff off in our room, changed into work clothes and went to meet up with the HPC half of the team. We all got to know each other over a bit of lunch.
After lunch it was on to help continue debris removal as we prepare to replace a collapsed wall between a church and school.
Going to be a week full of work, but all three of us are eager and glad to be a part.
That’s it for now, got an early morning tomorrow.
Please keep us ‘prayed up’.

It’s hard to believe that we are less than two weeks away from our departure. It almost seems too soon as I have so much to get together and so little time. But on the other hand, I can’t wait get there and I want to leave now. I know that there is so much need that I want to help NOW!
I guess that right now is a time for patience and preparation. I am not always good with the patience part, so it could be a turbulent couple of weeks…so please pray for the team as we get ready to go be His hands and feet in Haiti.
